Jumeirah Beach Residence sits between the beach and the Marina, which puts you about two kilometres from the bench. Close enough that people walk it in winter, and inside the area where collection and return cost nothing at all.

Free pickup and return
Dubai Marina, JBR and JLT are inside the free pickup and return area. Tell us where the device is and when suits you; it is collected and brought back at no charge, and plenty of people use it rather than leaving the building.

- Twenty to twenty-five minutes along the Marina Walk if the weather is with you. In August it is not.
- By tram
- Jumeirah Beach Residence 1 and 2 are a couple of stops from Marina Towers, then a short walk up Al Sharta Street.
- By car
- Five to ten minutes, allowing for The Walk being solid on a Friday evening.

Sand, salt and short lets.
Devices from JBR arrive with a problem the rest of the city has less often: sand packed into a charging port until the cable stops seating properly. That reads as a dead port and frequently is not one. It is worth showing us before you decide the connector has failed, and if it genuinely has, it is replaced at the board rather than bypassed.
Seawater is a different matter and we will not pretend otherwise. Switch it off, stop plugging it in to check whether it still works, do not put heat on it, and get it to us. Nothing about a liquid-damaged device can be promised before it has been opened and inspected.
What people ask from here
There is sand in my charging port and it will not charge.
Bring it in before you buy anything. A packed port reads as a dead port and often cleans out; if the connector really has failed, it is replaced at the board rather than bypassed. Either way you are told which of the two it is before any work starts.
I am in a holiday rental for a week, can you still collect?
Yes. JBR is inside the free pickup and return area and you do not need to be a resident. Give us the cluster, the building and a time, and tell us the date you fly, so we are working to your deadline rather than ours.
Is walking to you from JBR realistic?
In the cooler months, yes. About twenty-five minutes along the Marina Walk, and a pleasant route. Between June and September, take the tram a couple of stops or let us collect it instead.
